What to say when someone tells you, "It's all in your head."
Unfortunately, when you've lived in pain for long enough, you've heard this at some point from someone close to you—a parent, a spouse, a sibling, a friend... I couldn't count how many people have heard this.
There are a few reasons why someone would say such a thing:
—They mean well, but are ignorant
—They fashion themselves a medical expert, courtesy of Dr. Google
—They want to be hurtful to you or lack empathy / EQ
